Just to clarify, those of us getting business degrees CANNOT use most of our area of study classes as credit in GenEd - BUS and MAN courses are not GenEd. If you did some managerial communications courses that were COM, or Organizational Psychology that were PSY courses, those types of courses WOULD count as GenEd.

Given the amount of work it seems people have to put into PLA's, I would probably opt for testing out of things like Public speaking, just because it will be significantly less effort to take the DSST than to compile a PLA. From what I can tell PLAs become more worthwhile for upper level credit options. For easy general ed credits, I'd just take a test or find an alternative source that can be completed quickly.
