I'm possibly separating the air force in april 09, and wanted to knock out my CCAF and get any other quick credits i can if i get out. I am using IC right now to study for dsst principles of supervision. I need 1 management class and public speaking class(which i register for at AMU) for my CCAF in criminal justice. I plan on taking some other CLEPs/dsst b/c there free and i may go to school if i get out. I'd go to school for teaching/business, or maybe get my BA in criminal justice. i have seen people mention FEMA on here, but don't understand what that is. Is it a course you take and get credits or is it just like a CLEP. I'm basically looking to get as many credits as i can if i get out this spring. What are the ways i could do this?
If i get out, i'm going to live in NY and use my GI bill at a SUNY school, so it prolly won't be online schooling b/c the GI bill doesn't cover distant education.( or at least you don't get the new BAH)
Thanks for your help in advnace

Yes, most academy's usually give some credits, but I'm from upstate and don't have much interest in the city. Do you know what FEMA is or how it works?

Hi
If you do a search under "FEMA & FREE College Credit courses" there is a very long thread on this subject. I tried to put the link in here but not sure how to link you back to the thread. It was started by a poster named Frank. I hope this helps.

As an NYPD academy grad of 27 years, a former SUNY college student too and having two under grad degrees from Excelsior College (Albany, NY) and based on your post, I would put my full academic pursuits with EC .

Isn't excelsior college all online? The new GI bill will not give you BAH for online classes. I'd prefer to go to sit down classes. What school would you reccomend in the Rochester-Syracuse area? Albany is too far away for me. I'm directly in between Roch-Syracuse and planned on going to Suny Oswego
