Not sure if anyone here has taken this course. You have to pay big money. Thought I'd ask, just in case.
I"m guessing that it would meet the UL requirement for a BA in CS even though the class is listed under Computer Information System just like MIS CIS301.

I didn't take it, but I did PLA it, and it does indeed count as an UL CS course.
Here's what they sent when I asked for possible UL CS courses:
Quote:CMP-354, ELD-311 and ELD-400 may NOT be applied to Computer Science electives. CIS-351 may be applied.
Here's a list of possible Computer Science electives. Please be careful not to duplicate courses that you've already taken and be aware that you need AT LEAST 15 credits of upper level (300/400) courses in the entire Area of Study.
COS-116
COS-213
COS-330
COS-352
COS-451
CIS-301
CIS-351
CIS-311
Should you have more questions, please contact our office again via new email toacademicadvising@tesc.edu with your degree program in the subject line. Thank you.
As you can see, they only listed 6 UL courses, and most people need 5. If you take Linear Algebra for the math req, you only need 4 of them.
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

The previous feedback for this course on this forum wasn't good. Do a google search for "site:degreeforum.net software engineering"
http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...ample.html
Worse, if you are not already a software developer and want to be one, this is not the type of class you want to take. You need to actually do software engineering, not read about it. Otherwise that CS degree by itself won't carry you enough to land a job.

I would highly recommend taking courses for cheaper elsewhere IF you can find those UL courses at another RA University. It's $1500/3 credits at TESU.
If you have lots of experience, you can PLA 12 credits for $379 and another 6 credits for $250. But that's only if you have a good PLA exp option.

Thanks, Davewill, for the tip on Linear Algebra, which is MAT 321. I plan on doing just that!
Any comments about the professor teaching CIS 351? I'm thinking of going with Jason Litz.
