Someone said in the spring that CSU Global told them that SSAs will no longer be offered after the summer, but they're still up on the website, and they've added new ones. I noticed the new accounting "courses," but there could be new ones in other subjects.

Are you familiar with the CSU Global CBEs we've been discussing for a few years? This year, CSU Global replaced their competency-based exams with SSAs that are more course-like. Instead of your pass being based on one exam, you now have to take quizzes. I think there might also be a written assignment. I can't remember. Three-credit SSAs are $250.

Does anyone know how they look on a transcript? Course number and P/F and in house?

One of the exams I took is listed as MIS350EX. They're non-resident, pass/fail credits. A pass will show an "S" under the grade column, which stands for satisfactory.

Just a heads up to anyone interested in this option (since I already wasted hours trying to go through the process).
The SSAs are $250. IF. You are taking an actual class with it. If you want to only take the SSA you pay full tuition. (As far as I’m aware this policy only applies to 200,300, and 400 level class. Gen ed 100 level classes can be done solo for the $250 price.)
TESU March 2020 Graduation

--BSBA Accounting
--BA Computer Science
University of Alaska Fairbanks (December 2021 Graduation Goal)
--MBA (2/10 : 4.0)
I started this journey in the summer of 2016. I hoped to be done sooner, but I am still proud of the rate at which I have gotten my schooling done with respect to the many months of military training and deployments I have undergone.

Interesting... I'll have to ask my advisor about this. I applied as a non-degree-seeking student and took CBEs.

I am so confused. So, if you're taking the class you're already paying full price for, you can take the tuition as well, for an additional $250?? Why would anyone do this?
