Hello everyone!
I'm in a pickle and need some assistance!
As you all know, I am studying to prepare for the Financial Accounting exam. I've heard that the DSST version is better to take than the CLEP version. However, here is my predicament.
I want to give myself 2 weeks to study for this exam because I don't want to chance failing because as you know, failure is not an option! So I'm planning to take the exam on either May 21 or May 22. But, I haven't contacted the DSST testing center to find out what there schedule is for this month, or if they will have one at all. On the other hand, even if they do have a test date available, I can't afford to wait 2+ weeks to get my results.
I am taking the Financial Accounting CLEP because it is a prereq for the Managerial Accounting Class that I need to take at my local community college. Summer registration started May 6 and ends on June 6, 2008. I must be able to take the exam, get my results, and register for the Managerial Accounting class before the deadline.
If by chance I cannot take the DSST version, a counselor at my local CC stated that they do offer a placement test that I can take. If I pass it, I will recieve the same credit that I would have if I took the actual class. I tried to get a hold of him today but he's gone to lunch. I don't remember what the costs were the last time we spoke but it was comparable to the CLEP fee.
So, since everyone says that the DSST version is better, if I'm not able to take the DSST version, should I take the community college's placement test instead of the CLEP? I would really love your feedback on this.
Thanks in advance and thanks for bearing with me and my long posts!!!!(smile)
