Hello everyone,
I would like to have clarification on TESC credit policy. It is written in their catalog, "The limit of ACE and National CCRS credits from a single source is 90 credits." Does it means that I can have, for example 87 credits from Straighterline,12 from Aleks, 9 from PennFoster on my ACE transcript and they will be accepted since they are from different sources? Or does it mean that the most accepted credits from ACE and NCCRS combined are 90 credits?
Has somebody from the forum members got more than 90 credits on ACE transcript accepted by TESC?

Hmmm.. Was this always like this, or is this a recent change? The way I'm reading it, a "single source" would be each type? But I've never seen someone have a credit limit (besides CC). Maybe it is like you are saying, a single source being Straigterline, or the Army, etc.
More and more, the Big 3 is becoming a thing of the past.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

It should be per source and not per type. It's not a new policy or at least it was in place when I went through in 2012. If you have questions about it I'd recommend contacting admissions if you are not enrolled or contacting an advisor if you are. Their more carefully worded policy states a limit of 45 for associates and 90 for bachelors from a single source:
"The limit of National CCRS and ACE credits from a single source is 90 credits for a bachelor's degree and 45 credits for an associates degree."

My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

This policy has been around for awhile. It doesn't really affect anyone because rarely does someone earn more than 90 credits from one NCCRS or ACE source.
