Need a second look
#1
First off guys, thanks for the sheer tonnage of information on this website. Everybody here seems genuinely interested in helping the new people out (which is not always the case), and after taking a good chunk of time of reading through it, I feel that much more knowledgeable about what I'm about to undertake.

Using the resources I've found here and in the Wiki (Again, fantastic), I think I've created a comprehensive degree plan for me to follow. I was hoping you guys could take a look and see any blatant issues that I need to correct.

It is as follows:

General Requirements

CLEP English Comp. 6

College Level Math 3
ALEKS College Algebra 3

Intellectual and Practical Skills 6
ALEKS Precalculus 3
ALEKS Intermediate Algebra 3

TESC War and US Society 3

And now, on to the my questions and worries. I was trying to utilize ALEKS with what I could (Because at 20 dollars a month, how couldn't you), so I used College Algebra, Intermediate Algebra and Precalculus. From what I've been reading, this seems like they don't overlap, but I just wanted to put that out there to make sure.

As it seems, my major, History, seems to be one of the easier ones to complete, but I couldn't seem to find another alternative method for the last 3 UL History course. I'm a busy guy with a demanding job, so I'd like to avoid it if I could. Obviously, I have to sit for the Capstone anyways, but I figured if anybody had any experiences with that last UL, would they be willing to share?

Finally, and my most apprehensive, is the 27 Free electives that I had left off. From the TESC website and this forum, I didn't see any real guidelines on what I can put here, which makes me assume that as long as it doesn't duplicate what I already have up on the board, they would fit (But we all know where assuming gets you). I'm thinking about filling it out with Saylor classes (because again, at 25 dollars a class, you can't really argue with it), but any suggestions on the contrary would obviously be helpful.

Again, thanks to anybody willing to take the time to look it over. You guys rock!

An alternative to taking a history course, you can complete a portfolio assessment. In order for TESC to even consider your portfolio assessment, you have to either take their PLA courses are take an introductory PLA course at another school. TESC does allow you to work through their PLA courses for free, but they aren't free. There are links to them on Saylor's website (PLA 100 and 200).
Open Course Option for ASBA « Saylor Academy

You can base your PLA on a free Saylor course or another MOOC. The certificate of completion that Saylor gives you can be used as documentation.
Complete Course List « Saylor Academy

Any college-level course can go into free electives. You can earn 6 free credits through TEEX and 3 free credits through NFA. If you complete all 10 courses in those 3 tracks for TEEX, you will earn 6 credits for 3 courses on an ACE transcript.
TEEX Information Technology / Online Training

NFA offers ACE-approved courses called Q118, Q318, and Q137.

I'm not 100% sure if the DSST for Business Ethics and Society can be used as a diversity/ethics elective. Maybe someone else knows. There are plenty of other diversity tests that will go there for sure like intro to sociology.
