I need to take a TECEP to keep my registration active. I was looking for a thread to see if someone had given some advise on how hard some of these will be.
The TECEP can fall in any of these areas just looking for the easiest as I have to take it in March and wont have a ton of study time.

Diversity
Civic Engagement
Introduction to Marketing

If you have prior knowledge in any of the mentioned go with that one. If not Comp II or Marketing. I took the Marketing CLEP and if the TECEP is anything like that it shouldn't be too hard of an exam.

I took English Comp II and thought it was pretty easy. I spent less than 5 minutes preparing for it (borrowed the Hodges Harbrace handbook from our local library, put sticky notes on each of the sections I might need).
I thought the Computer one was easy as well. Again, I spent zero time preparing for it and took it cold.
The easiest of all I took was Applied Math, I got a 90% on it. I took ALEKS' Intermediate Algebra before that, but honestly I'm not sure if that made it easier or not - but there seemed to be a lot of Algebra questions that I was fresh on (although I knew that from previous to ALEKS), and a lot of % questions that were super easy. The consumer math stuff was crazy easy.

So I recently took English Comp I (yuck) but got a B. How much different is English Comp II, I am worried about the essays. Also you were able to use the handbook during the test?

Since I didn't take the English Comp I TECEP (I took it as an actual course at a CC), I can't compare it for you.
Yes, I was able to use the handbook during the exam. I was also allowed a piece of paper, which I only used to do word counts. The requirements of having to have a range of words, but with no word counter there, is ridiculous!

Sorry I didnt clarify that I took English I Comp as a class not a TECEP. So if you are comparing the TECEP for English Comp II to taking the class for English Comp I how comparable is the diffuculty.

I had no idea ENC II TECEP was open book. Sigh :roflol: < says lol, but looks in pain to me

Honestly, I took the class in maybe 1995, so I don't even remember it.
