@Ericf, Welcome to the board!  UMPI is a great first choice, I would keep options open such as the Excelsior BSLA. What we need is more details on your budget, commitments, previous education, etc...

Attaching the credit evaluation is exactly what I want you to do, this is to allow us to view your courses completed and see what requirements have been met at UMPI.  If you have any UL courses, such as the ones at UF, they can be applied to the degree as well.

What you should do is provide us more details, if your evaluation has personal info, remove them and attach the PDF or screenshot, then fill in the template and last post addendum here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

1) Excelsior, what is the affinity discount?  Is it a partnership?
2) UMPI, how did you score the $1,300 instead of $1,400 for Your pace?

Good Question and not a problem.

1- Excelsior is a 20% affinity discount (partnership) with certain businesses that one of them my spouse works at.

2 - UMPI - I assume you would be correct with the price, as the person I spoke too I am learning gave me much incorrect information.

Again thank you all in advance and hope I did not provide too much information here

UMPI is $1400 per 8 week term. You most likely spoke to an enrollment counselor. They are not UMPI employees but are a hired third party vendor. They're basically salespeople. They don't know much about YourPace! I just ignore their calls and emails.

Makes sense about them being salespeople and not knowing much because after referring me to admissions I heard nothing. Well any advice that you folks can give from what I attached and posted would be so appreciated and if I need to provide other info please let me know

Update: You missed the last post addendum and the information I usually look for, it will help determine which institution and course provider would be better suited in your situation, please reply with your answers: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid363958

Excelsior using Sophia.org partnership
Tuition (7 credits) $3570
Academic Service Fee: $28 x 7 = $196
Technology Fee: $20 x 7 = $140
Grad Fee: $125
Sub Total: $4031

So, You need to take at least 10 courses at UMPI for residency.
Basically, depending on how fast you work, possible cost below.
I recommend doing a BLS with a minor of your choice in two sessions.
UMPI 1 session = $1400
UMPI 2 sessions: $2800
UMPI 3 sessions: $4200

Charter Oak State College is no longer a good option, skip them.
Study.com only has a few upper level courses you can transfer over.
The requirement is now bumped to 80% not the previous 70% a course.
Unless you want to take your time to do TECEPS, I would skip COSC.

Excelsior, you can finish in 16 weeks (two 8 week terms). Your Cornerstone/Capstone will give you 6 UL credits already, you just need 12 more UL credits to finish the degree from Study.com.... Email your academic advisor to see what courses you can bring in to get the 6 lower level from these links: Sophia & Study.com Side Note: you need to take the 1 credit Info Lit along with the cornerstone.

Budget: I have money for this as needed. I'd like to go the cheapest route possible, but will consider spending more for easy and fast.

Commitments: I work full time and also own a business which is slow during the winter. I also have a son w special needs and am the president of a NFP domestic violence agency but am committed as I have completed 30 Sophia in a few weeks

Dedicated time to study: I can study as much as is needed during the night or weekends as long as my schedule is free.

Timeline: Finishing the courses required for the degree as fast as possible would be ideal.

Tuition assistance/reimbursement:
20 percent discount Excellsior through workplace
$3k a year reimbursement if business through work

Partnerships at Excelsior require that you take at least 12cr there, which we generally don't advise here.

That's right, from looking at your two attached pdf documents, you're at a cross road, it's pretty much 50/50 on Excelsior or UMPI. So, decide if you want to take the 7 credits as I outlined above at Excelsior (Info Lit, Cornerstone, Capstone) in two 8 week terms to finish the degree or if you prefer to take the 10 courses at UMPI in two sessions... With enough energy, time, UMPI may be a better option. If you don't have much energy/time, I suggest completing as many courses that will transfer into both institutions.
