Need Help-70 Credits Earned- No Degree Yet
#1
Hello Everyone,

I am new here and was wondering if some advice can be offered. I am currently enrolled in ENMU (Eastern New Mexico University). This is currently my junior year and I have been doing pretty well so far. I currently have 79 credits and have 41 more credits to go. I can take elective classes from anything the University offers. I need help choosing which College to go to. I am aiming for any degree that will allow me to further pursue a Master's degree if possible. If not, it really doesn't matter because I already have a great job that I am at. I have been here for the past 4 years and doing great.

The problem is I am having a hard time passing my (STAT 213 P Statistical Methods I). This is the only course which is holding me back.

I am just really trying to get a degree from another school. I see that Charter Oak has the quickest degree. I see that it is only 90 Credits for Bachelors of Art and 60 Bachelor of Science.

Are there any suggestions for a degree plan or College that will work for me? I really appreciate all your help.

I am a little confused to what you are asking, are you asking which degree you should get from ENMU? or If you should transfer to TESU or something.

Two things I noticed :
1. Looks like your missing the English Comp II unless that English Comp and Research is it (very well could be) in that case awesome English is done!
2. If your looking at going to TESU or one of the Big Three you can do ALEKS Stats Course if you can do it quickly enough (end on 12/31/16). Much easier version, no proctoring and you can use videos on YouTube to help you through it.

Yes, thank you, this is what I was asking. I am trying to look into another College because ENMU won't let me pass without Stats 213. I have completed both Eng classes which is 101 and 104 Eng Comp and Research. What are your thoughts on COSC ( Charter Oak)? I see their requirements are less. Would you not be able to go on to a Master's degree with one of their Liberal Arts Bachelors? Also about ALEKS Stats Course, I have never heard of it before. What would I use this for? I'm sorry that I am not aware of this stuff.

There are several options for Statistics if you are going to transfer to Thomas Edison or Charter Oak, ALEKS is the least expensive. It is self-paced and the final is untimed/not proctored. There are also Statistics options at Study.com, Straighterline, Penn Foster, Statistics.com, and probably more. Between all these options you should be able to find a way that works for you. The good thing about ALEKS is, even you just can't get Stats, you can switch to an Algebra class and at least get elective credit.

Do you think my (MATH 106 P Foundations for Statistics 4.00 credits) will satisfy any of the schools requirements?

If your goal is to be a speech therapist, you will need statistics to get into a graduate program. You could take the DSST for Statistics and ENMU will give you 4 hours of credit for it. It counts as Stats 213.

Thank you for your help. My goal is no longer to be a Speech Pathologist. At this moment, my job only requires me to just get a degree. Do to my years of experience as a Manager of Fortune 500 company. Before I got this job, this was my goal at first. Then after not doing so well at the Stats 213, I decided to switch. However, my advisor told me that I would add on another 2 years if I was to switch degrees. My advisor also told me that I would end up have to take Stats 213 for all the degrees they offer. So at this moment any school that can let me transfer my credits in or switch the Stats 213 option is fine.

You have lots of great classes to fit a degree then. You foundations of statistics class should work to fulfill the math requirement for Charter Oak, TESU, or Excelsior.

It's still 120 credits overall, and they have to fit into a degree plan.
I'm looking when I can today.
