No. Those conversations applied to the Strut Learning Platform. UMPI now utilizes Brightspace in house. There are no exams today.
Just to clarify - is using the rough draft, or a version of it, still applicable in Brightspace?

Rough drafts are still very much apart of Brightspace. I think they're just called drafts now though. Submitting them isn't the same either. Different platform.

Definitely. I strongly recommend doing the draft, even if you're confident just getting the "This is good" from the professor is invaluable. There were two cases I felt very good about the work I was submitting, and got middling feedback and was able to make corrections and get 4's in those classes.

Education Tip: Once you submit your final draft, ASK for another class! Tell them "Hey I submitted my final for X, can I start on a new class now?"
Education Tip 2: For multiple choice exams, don't rush to take them. Go to ALL the quizzes you took and purposely FAIL the quizzes, do this 3-4 times. UMPI rewords quiz questions and uses them in the final test bank. (There are no longer quizzes or exams on the Brightspace platform.)
What has taken the place of quizzes and exams? I'm about to start Summer 2 and would like to know what to expect.

Yes, it would be helpful if somebody gave the summer 2024 version of what this thread originally gave.
What are you graded on, what share of the final grade is each type of work, and how does the grading work? For example, how is the final assignment weighted compared with other assignments?
If you wanted to get through courses as quickly as possible while still getting an A, what is the current best method, in addition to using drafts?
Thanks!

They still have ungraded quizzes. There were only a few exams back in the day. They've been replaced with papers or projects so every class is now a written Final Assessment.

Your grade is based on your Final Assessment. Nothing has changed. Final Assessments are all written work - paper or project.
Every professor has different expectations. Use the drafts and follow their feedback.

Thanks, so the grade is 100% only final assessment and not a combination of milestones and FA?
Nothing may have changed recently or in some respects, but - for example - until a week ago, I was planning to use this thread's advice and deliberately fail quizzes repeatedly to prep for the final exam. I guess that part is no longer relevant in a post-exam structure.

The exams left when UMPI moved from Strut to Brightspace so it was a year ago! It pays to pay attention to dates on threads. People dig up years old threads all the time.

Yes - and yet this thread is pinned
That is why I am asking, and why I think it would be good to either thoroughly update this thread, or at least unpin it.
