A video without deep layers of sarcasm.
What Future Home Robots Could Do
1. Cleaning and tidying
Would save time, basically like hiring a maid.
2. Kitchen assistance (cooking)
Would save time as well, similar to hiring a chef. There are safety issues with cooking, but robots could start with meal prep like chopping, mixing, and organizing ingredients, while the owner handles turning on the stove or oven.
3. Delivery and assistance
Adds convenience. Imagine hosting a party and having the robot act as a bartender or server.
4. Baby, child, or pet monitoring
Childcare costs are huge, and this could help solve the problem of who watches the kids (or pets) when we’re at work or out of the house.
5. Security and maintenance
In later versions, robots could handle simple home repairs like changing light bulbs, checking smoke detectors, or mowing the lawn.
6. Entertainment and social presence
There’s a lot of potential for interactive roles like a fitness coach, conversation partner, or personal assistant for hobbies and routines.
Overall
Getting robot hands to work like human hands has been one of the biggest challenges, but we’re close to overcoming it. Walking like a human is basically solved.
The first versions will be slow and clumsy with limited abilities, but it probably won’t be long before they become advanced enough that everyone will want one, especially if the price ends up around $20,000.

Looking forward to seeing how long it takes before one of these gets hacked and turned into a murder weapon.
