My minimum cost zero to hero degree plan (high school to partial doctorate)
#1
1. University of the People: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (approx. 1-2k$ if you're fast with Sophia, depending on whether you receive a scholarship - make sure to benefit from transfer fee waivers if possible, approx. 14-15 months)

-> 90 credits from Sophia + 30 credits at UoPeople

You need 6 terms to complete your degree due to the learning pathways course requirements.

The only courses you have to take at UoPeople are (by term):

1. Online Learning Strategies

2. Principles of Marketing + E-Commerce

3. Multinational Management + Entrepreneurship

4. Business and Society + Leadership (that's where I am atm)

5. Business Policy and Strategy + Organizational Leadership

6. Quality Management

2. UK Level 7 Diploma in Accounting and Finance (800£, 9 months)

This was the cheapest accredited one (OTHM) I could find (9 month pathway): https://lsba.org.uk/level-7-diploma-in-a...d-finance/

6 courses with pdf course material. Each courses requires 1 written assignment of min. 2000 words using the Harvard referencing style (in contrast to APA at UoPeople).

3. MSc Accounting and Finance Top-Up at University of Northampton (2,425£, 1 year)

This program only has 1 course: the dissertation.

4. UK Level 8 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership (1450£, 9 months)

For example this one (Qualifi): https://lsba.org.uk/level-8-diploma-in-s...eadership/

My UoPeople degree will end up costing me only 1000$ due to a 50% scholarship and a transfer fee waiver. So it's 1000$ + 4675£ for the whole pathway that leads from high school graduation to a properly accredited master in a well-paying field (finance/accounting) and an option to complete a DBA/PhD dissertation at a later stage. I believe that's pretty hard to beat.

Also, I set this pathway up in a way that it can be completed while working full time.

Good stuff! My recommendations nowadays are the RA options, then finish with a UK diploma. It goes like this... Pierpont BOG AAS > UMPI BAS > UMPI MAOL plus the UK Level 8 (CMI, OTHM, Qualifi, or another OfQual authorized/regulated). Costs are comparable, $79/month for Sophia.org, TEEX, Coursera cheapies/freebies, $350 for the BOG fees, $1700/session for BAS, $2350/session for the MAOL. If the person is very speedy, had no commitments, great time management, they can get this pretty quickly as well, probably 1 year for the entire thing, then another 3-6 months for the UK Level 8 Diploma and all for under $10K USD.

Hi! I am doing the OTHM Level 7 diploma in accounting and finance. Other level 7 diplomas might have other requirements but it seems that the requirements for OTHM Level 7 diplomas are similar across different subjects.

You need to do 6 courses. Each course has one assignment of about 4500 words with Harvard referencing (not APA like in the US).

The course materials I got provided with were of very bad quality, but the internet offers enough good sources to complete the assignments. You get a syllabus that shows what you need to know, so use that as an orientation to prepare for your assignments.

These diplomas usually take 6-12 months.

Just a note, the pathway allows for 2 courses in the first, second, third, fourth and fifth terms.  Due to prerequisites, this is how it’s laid out, BUT, you can get an approval to take 3 courses im your third and fourth term and be done an entire term early. This is what I am currently doing. I am at courses 5/6/7, then one more term 8/9/10.
In Progress:
University of The People/UoPeople / BS: Business Administration / 4 Courses Remaining / Est. Graduation 4/15/25

Completed: Pierpont Community & Technical College l AAS: Business - Dec 2023
Completed: Google Project Management Specialization - Jan 2024
Completed: Google Digital Marketing & E-Commerce Specialization - Jan 2024
Completed: 108 Sophia Credits - 2023/24

How did you get this approval? I asked my PA to register me for a course even though I don't fulfill the prerequisite yet, but she said that's not possible.
