After going back and forth about even doing a master’s program, I finally pulled the trigger on WGU MSML. I still have no clear vision on why I’m doing it, but I figure some doors may open with it at some point in my life. I’ve settled into the notion of I just wanted a master’s degree.
Started the program Dec 1, and I’ve completed 8 courses to date. I have Leading Teams Task 2 (start Feb 5) to complete, the OA for Data Driven (task 2 is in taskstream), and then the capstone to finish it up. Assuming I can keep a similar pace, and the team project does take the full 5 weeks, I should be very close to a 3-3.5 month completion. Worst case, I drag it out to the full 6 month term.
Data driven has so much info that it will be the slow-down course for me. I’m trying to really read all the material and watch the videos to get the concepts. Reminds me of studying for the accounting CLEP. It took me forever for the info to gel.
I want to thank Ransomsoul for his progress share thread (and the contributors in that thread) for all the great tips. I refer back to that thread regularly. The tip to not overthink the papers has helped tremendously. I just write what is requested and submit. That strategy helped so much for speed. Of the 13 papers I’ve submitted, three came back for minor revisions that I cleaned up quickly since the graders tell you exactly what you need to revise.
I’ll report back when I wrap it up. I’m looking forward to the pitcher of sangria at the end.

OP, Great work! I totally agree with this, you're killing the MSML - just like rocking it the same way Ransomsoul did.
I'm looking forward to reading about your WGU journey, especially if you're going for their MBA afterward.
I think a few people are looking to complete the MSML and the MBA from WGU, one after the other.

Glad the thread helped ftsfour1 and congratulations on crushing the launch of your program. The cool part when you are this far along and with plenty of time to go, it makes for a very enjoyable program because you have complete confidence/peace that you will finish in one term.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop - look forward to celebrating you soon!

No plans for an MBA at the moment.

I just passed Data Driven. That was a beast. All that remains is the capstone and task 2 of leading teams. Since leading teams doesn’t start until Feb 5, I will probably jump on tasks 1 and 4 of the capstone.

Does the MSML capstone require a presentation, or just a paper?
Congrats on wrapping up 80% of the degree in no time flat. That's incredible!

Not easy at all. Just dedication of time and a full commitment to get my money’s worth. What did help was having my BSBA. Many of the courses are just more in-depth courses from undergrad. Some new material, but it all ties together. 9.5 classes in 6 weeks ( but I did start right after orientation on writing), so 8 weeks. These last two will take the longest time. I anticipate 3.5 months to completion unless I get a lazy streak.
No. Most courses are papers, but I had 4 exams too.

Capstone problem statement approved. Tasks 1 & 4 in taskstream. All that’s left is tasks 2 &3 of capstone and task 2 for leading teams. Starting to feel accomplished!
