My Thoughts on Here's to your Health
#1
I studied for this exam for a week using IC and taking DSST Practice Exam. This is enough to pass!!! Know the four stages: excitement, resolution..etc, what nutrient has the most grams of fat...got confused on that! lol, know... maslow's hierarchy of needs, the most leading cause of death of 35-64 year olds, for both male and female...aspirins side effects, sarcoma, and all that types of cancer, what cancer is, which type of oil to stay away from if you are trying to lower cholesterol..was not sure on that...I put sunflower oil???...um... stages of dying, and I felt confident..thanks to the forum and IC!!!!

Sure,
for Social Science and History I only studied the official CLEP book (I did not know about InstantCert back then).
If you study the InstantCert and the Handbook, you should be fine. A lot of times, I just guessed and chose the most logic answer. It worked for me.

For the Information Systems I used InstantCert which was very helpful in regards to all the different terms. Also, try to do as many mock tests as possible and make sure, you have also have a quick look over the Management Information Systems InstantCert info (DSST test) and feel comfortable with terms like MIS and DSS.
(I looked over the InstantCert for the MIS test, chickened out and decided to go with the CLEP test first ;-))

Good luck,

KcKusek,
When are you planning to take your German exam? I'll be eager to hear about your experiences because I have been thinking about taking a foreign language exam through NYU as well. Can you let us know what it is like after you take it?

Hi Johanna,

sure I will report as soon as I'm done on Friday. I'm not so sure though how good my feedback will be, because I am German (born and grown up there) so I did not even study for it.
I'll let you know on Friday afternoon,

Hi trasyrinca,

thanks again for your feedback about the Health exam. I found it quite easy and was done after 40 minutes. I'm sure I passed that one.

The Drug and Alcohol test will be on the role today, so I will let you know how this went as soon as I'm done.

About the Counseling: Study the InstantCert and use the some logic to the questions and you have a sure pass. I did not have any prior experience in the subject counseling and studied about two days on InstantCert.
Make sure you know where counseling came from (vocational / Education), you need to understand the vocabulary which you find in InstantCert and you should be good to go.

Good luck, and let me know if you need more info.

Hi Trasyrincan,

all right, this is the first exam (Drug and Alcohol Abuse) which I guess I failed Sad . When you study, make sure you understand the influences on the body incl. overdose, etc.
I found a link in this forum which brings you to a government site which shows the different drugs, their influence and to which category they belong. It's important that you know them.
I had some questions about law (like which constitutional amendment has to do with alcohol:eek: ). If you have not studied Drugs before (like me), it's not something you can squezze in your brain quickly.
InstantCert will be also very helpful in explaining which drugs have what effect on which Neurotransmitters (and what the effect is, like leaving them longer in the Synapsis, etc.Cool )
Good luck for your study,

kckusek
