I've been calling and emailing several medical schools regarding their acceptance of portage learning courses and I haven't heard a "no" yet. I registered for general bio 1 and gen chem 1 at ocean county college, however, due to the next wave of lockdowns ALL of their classes have gone online including labs. Ocean county college does offer lab kits but some are almost $400, which is ridiculous for a foundational course (in my opinion). I may drop the classes while I still have time to get all my money back.
So far I've spoken with the admissions staff at St. James School of Medicine, UMHS, AUC, and ALL of the Touro Osteopathic medical programs (I think there's 4-5 of them) and every single last one has said in writing or over the phone that they take the Geneva credits via their online platform, portage learning. If you absolutely needed to take a wet lab as opposed to a virtual lab, then you can take labs only with the University of New England. Two of the schools I called stated that they have already accepted students who completed portage learning sciences.
I've been in correspondence with a staff member at portage learning who told me they are currently developing Organic Chemistry courses and will be heading into the pre-med side of things, similar to UNE.
I will continue to post to this thread as I call more schools and get more info. Hopefully, this can be helpful to someone who wants to do the med school prereqs at a lower cost.
Keep in mind, I'm mostly looking at Caribbean medical schools and maybe DO schools.
