For those looking to get into the IT field the Microsoft 70-680 exam (Configuring Windows 7) is a comparable entry level cert to the CompTIA A+ exam.
I can't say enough good things about professormesser.com! The guy is very knowledgeable and easy to follow. I used his series on A+ and Security+ to help me pass those exams.
