Getting into grad school is the primary purpose of my General Business degree. I will specialize in corporate security and protection, but Generals Business is a good foundation to most specialties in business; I have sure learned a lot. It will be interesting to see how other people use a nontraditional degree to pursue their goals, particularly those seeking entry level positions like I am.

Good question. It's kind of funny that when I was in my twenties I only had an A.A. Liberal Arts degree, but ended up as a buyer and district manager for a chain of video stores in Chicago. Then when I hit 30 I moved to Florida and started my own business, which I have operated since 1988.
I really want a Masters, so going this route made sense. I also realized that times have changed, and I wanted to catch up on the latest and greatest practices. From that standpoint it has been very interesting and rewarding.
I will probably go for a Masters in Non-Profit Management (MBA lite) or Education: Instructional Technology for corporate training. I'm not sure at this point that I will use either one directly, but I'm involved in a group that bids on government grants for educational/ job training programs outside the US (training the workers, not management), and I needed to boost my resume and credentials.
Just like in business, you always have to keep a few irons in the fire, in case option 1,2 or 3 doesn't work out. Having the degrees represent another option.
