I'm looking to take this TECEP. I haven't found alot of feedback on it and was wondering if anyone on this forum has taken it recently. If so, how did you prepare?

I'm scheduled to take it before the Feburary term end on May 22. I'll let you know how it goes if no one else replies. I'm not really looking forward to it but hopefully it's an easy pass.

Didn't take that one. However the two TECEPs I took were really connected to the text they recommend for studying. I passed both, but didn't feel comfortable about either.

Bumping this to see if anyone else has any feedback about what concepts are actually covered in the exam. So far the most useful info I've found on this exam was:
petersouth Wrote:I got an old version of the textbook and read the first 300 pages quickly. Another member here recommended just studying the chapter summaries so i did that and scanned the rest of the pages pretty fast. The textbook is filled with tons of statistics like "After 5 years marriage , Latinos are 30% likely to get divorced." I tried to focus on that stuff and there was hardly any on the test. You'd do better off knowing bold term definitions, details of theories, and general concepts that the author repeats multiple times throughout. I did not feel like there were too many gimmes and had to make educated guesses on a bunch of questions and came out with a 70% -> was not confident that I was going to pass but I guess that's my fault for not studying more (I maybe studied 10 hours?) Has anyone taken the Marriage and Family TECEP lately?

Hope you get some answers!
I was debating taking it, but when dfrecore rearranged my Academic Plan, I then only needed UL courses, so put it on the back burner.

I just finished this exam so I can't say if any of my study methods helped or not. I felt like I needed to guess on a lot of questions. The 2 essays were reasonable questions to ask assuming you focused in the main ideas in the text. I had just finished Psychology of women TECEP and there is about 100 additional vocabulary words for this exam. I used the companion site to copy all the terms into quiz website and memorized. Knowing those got me 60% of the multiple choice. Truly understanding the theories and research methods would help carry the remainder of the multiple choice. There were a few odd balls. Again, really understanding (listing, defining, comparing) the theories and research methods helped with the essays. I'm a bit unsure if I passed and don't feel as confident as I did with the psy of women exam
Done! 0-120 TESU BSBA
