Made a mistake - thoughts?
#1
I made a rather unfortunate mistake of not withdrawing from a class on time.

It was a 1 credit physics lab for which i did not have the physics class done.  I had too many issues at home and work, and missed the date.  I had intended to do physics through study.com and did not start either the class or the lab.  This screws an otherwise 4.0 gpa.

Has anyone had any luck asking for forgiveness on a late withdrawal and getting it removed.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Usually, you have to retake the course. If you are ill, some schools grant an incomplete or withdrawal with the option to retake, but it is typically requested before the term ends. Are you a pilot or an aircraft mechanic? Sounds fun!

"For courses in which you have an F or IF, you should consider repeating the exact same course and earning a grade of C or better. This new grade will remove the F or IF grade in the calculation of the TESU GPA altogether and the new grade will be used. For example, if you took Introduction to Psychology and have an IF or F grade, when you retake Introduction to Psychology and earn a passing grade (A, B, C or D), the passing grade will be calculated into your TESU GPA and the F or IF no longer will be counted at all in your TESU GPA."

That's what I would recommend as well, retake the class to upgrade your knowledge and get a better understanding of the lab requirements, plus get a better grade overall... It's the only way of overwriting the F, I don't recommend taking anything more from TESU or any other institutions to try and get a better overall GPA unless you have to.

This is all good news thank you!  Bjcheung77, can i ask why you don't recommend taking anything more from TESU or other institutions?  I will have to finish my residency and RA credits of course.

Thanks always for your wise input.

Unless you have to (Capstone and other classes for residency purposes), I highly recommend max out that transfer credit option and use the flat rate fee for up to 15 credits. Otherwise, TESU credit is expensive for in-state and out-of-state students...
