Macro today, ACT scores, etc.
#1
Hi All,
I decided to go ahead and try the Macro CLEP today, even though I don't feel real confident. I figure I MAY pass it, and if I fail and have to re-take in 6 months, it's still cheaper and easier than taking the semester-long class.

I got back my ACT scores yesterday. (Missouri State requires incoming students to take the ACT to determine placement.) I was worried about math, but I actually scored high enough that they are saying I'm ready to enroll in Trig. It's not required for my degree, (Early Childhood Educ.) so I doubt very seriously if I will tax my brain with it!

My classes start Aug. 20, and I'm planning 2 more CLEPs before then -- Amer. Gov. in 2 weeks, and then Sociology 2 weeks after that. Will have 18 credits by exam this summer if I pass these last 3 tests.

My hubby calls me a CLEP-tomaniac! Wink I'm so thankful for IC -- I don't think I ever could do this without this great resource and all of you here on the forum who have offered advice and support.

Congrats on your ACT score!

I presume that you took a paper-based Macro exam; unless I missed something or you forgot to post how you did?

I squeaked by with a 54! But, as you seasoned veterans often say, "A pass is a pass!" Smile

I usually don't remember much from the tests, but made a concerted effort today to remember so I could share.

There was alot on my test having to do with the various graphs, and what different "shifts" mean. They often did not have the graph there for you to look at, but just asked what the shift meant in a particular graph situation.

Keynesian economics

Traditional economics

Multipliers

What kind of economy we have

Expansionary and contractionary monetary policy

Inflation

Exchange rates, the effect on our economy when dollar goes down in value

Reserve ratios

Sale of bonds by Fed / Purchasing of bonds by Fed -- what do these do to the money supply? Used to combat what?

This was my hardest CLEP so far, but I had no background in Economics, and the other subjects I've taken, I had studied in the past.

Congratulations on your pass!!! Yeah for Becky!! Yeah for Becky!!!

Tell your husband that all of us here are CLEP tomaniacs. Once you pass and see how easy it is to get through a class it is hard (at least for me) to take a 16 week course, especially having to complete assignments and homework.

BECKY CAN DO IT!

Great job and excellent feedback!!!!! Press on!!!

Jolie, indeed, many of us crazies on this site second your post. So true!!! 16 weeks chained to a desk in an institution...I'd literally go batty! I am going to have to take my last two years by distance (surveying & engineering courses), but I am working for a reduced sentence!
