I got a bit confused on MSCHE accreditation when I googled. Is this regional accredited or national accredited?
What does this even mean?
From wiki:
Quote:Until federal regulations changed on July 1, 2020, it was considered one of the seven regional accreditation organizations dating back 130 years. MSCHE, which is now considered an institutional accreditor, is recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

They are regional but are trying to comply with the new federal regulations. You can see the 7 regional accreditors here:

Once upon a time, the regional accreditors had similar acronyms, so it was easy to figure out (they all were a 1- or 2-letter region followed by ACS or ASC). Then they all decided at some point to make it ridiculously confusing, renaming everything, making the names longer, and repetitive, except one. There is no rhyme or reason to what they did, except make the situation worse (as usually happens with "updates." It's like they all decided that people being able to figure it all out was a bad thing, so they made it exceptionally difficult).
