They're kind of new. I think they've been around for about a year or less. When a school is just starting up competency-based programs, it can take a while to get approval for financial aid. After a school has a system going, they can get new programs approved relatively quickly. Capella's new FlexPath programs usually say "not eligible for financial aid" for a few months.
