Well are you absolutely dead-set on the Communications degree? If so I don't know of a way around the PLAs. But if you wanted to switch to another degree (e.g. BA History) there are several degree plans we put up on the wiki to give you an idea of how to go about it.

What are your ultimate career goals? There may be a way to achieve them without a communications degree. Especially if you plan on doing a grad degree. Since the grad degree carries so much more weight your undergrad can often be literally anything.

BTW they transcribed it wrong. It's DSST, not DTTS. Smile

Also, did you pick those tests or did they? You can pick any one you like as long as it fits into the appropriate category. See the master list of equivalencies here: http://degreeplanners.com/media/TESC_Equivalencies.pdf

Pretty set on the Communications degree, I am separating from the military this fall and I would like to be able to combine the degree with my relevant experience in the field to try and get some sort of decent job when I get back home. I intend to use the gi bill part time after I can get a job and from there I will figure out what to do next. My main goal as of now is to sperate with a B.A. so I can be somewhat competitive in the job market.

your outline looks good. You can now enroll and tell your advisor you want ot plan in those exams/PLAs/courses. He will enter them into your evaluation record and it will "place hold" them for you in those spots. The best of luck to you! And please share your PLA experience as you go through it.

I'm at work and I got so inspired by Steve that I started googling a few things and I do believe I am now going to work toward 2 BA's - my business like I planned and a humanities degree. I'm actually considering doing some really off the wall stuff and while I have no idea if it will be accepted or not, being able to laugh my way to the degree I want will make crying my way to the degree I need completely worth it.
