Seems ambitious that this writer thinks that kids are going to be able to get over their addiction to social media. If anything, things will be worse when the Metaverse becomes popular.

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure that things are as dire as the author presents but there are undoubtedly some serious issues with kids, education, mental health, etc.  The internet is a kind of Pandora's Box and now that it has been opened it will never be closed.  It will continue to become more complex and stories about startups like Musk's Neuralink will become more common.
