Argh! TESU credit evaluation slowness!
#1
Why does it take them so long to evaluate credits? It is so frustrating to compulsively check day after day and see no change. Yes, I know that it takes them 20 days, but it seems like pre-planned credits shouldn't take so long to update. Don't they know it would make me feel good to see my applied credits flip to over 100? Wink

I think I am spoiled in that credits can be earned so quickly, but then the process slows back down in order to have those credits placed. Oh well.

I've been waiting since 16-February-2016 as well ... = ( I believe it said within 25 business days so I've counted it out towards the 3rd or 4th week this month.

In the meantime I've planned out DSST Vietnam, Techical Writing, Satistics (Even though I've passed ALEKS)

If I'm not mistaken the counter starts when a "Transcript" is received. Mine were all received by the 16th of FEB. The wait is killing me.

Good luck !

With so many great things about TESU, evaluation at times can feel long to say the least. Here is what has helped me eliminate the constant checking or frustration of my transferred credits:

Transfer in bulk vs onesie-twosie

Multiple transfers within the same time frame tends to slow down the process. Seems the techs would rather review 1 long transfer than 15 individual transfers. Like grading 1 long essay vs 15 small essays Smile

Email Registar

Detail the credits you have scheduled in for transfer and would like to have them shown on your transcripts. They will be noted on your account 24/48 hours as:

(Pending completion of unfinished activity)

Course # Course Description Date & under Notes it will show *PTE

*PTE Preliminary Transfer Equivalency

Hang in there - they will eventually knock them out.

I feel your pain. I am in the same boat! I actually have two outstanding transcripts, the first one was received on 2/22, the second one was just a couple of days ago. The first one has yet to be evaluated, so I know I'm in for many more days of checking without results. Smile

Don't bother checking every day. Just go in on the day after 4 weeks exactly, and it should be there. The last 3 times I had mine done, that's what happened. Also, they send you an email letting you know they completed it.

The only good thing - they're getting faster about posting the TECEP scores and getting the residency posted (it's in a separate place on the eval), and they are very quick about responding to questions emailed to advising (about 24-hour turnaround).

Randomsoul, hopefully these were the last of my transcripts to send to them, but I'll know for the future. Some of the other credits I'm waiting for were preplanned and say "pending", and my DSSTs that I took back to back couldn't be sent in bulk.

I actually have a weird situation with those DSSTs. The Substance Abuse DSST transcript was originally received on 2/6, then the Public Speaking transcript was received on the 16th due to the extra time it took to grade the presentation portion. The original 2/6 date disappeared completely!

The last time they completed an evaluation for me was my initial evaluation when I enrolled. Took about 15 business days for it to show up in Student Services under my evaluation, but it was 2-3 more business days before I got the email saying it was done. I guess it just all depends on how backed up they are.

I still agree with the OP, though. If you have credits pre-planned, it'd be nice if when the transcript comes rolling in saying it's completed, they could push them through a little quicker. Oh well. If that's my biggest complaint right now, I'm not doing too bad! Smile

I am in the same situation. I called (twice), and just got the standard "25 business days" reply. If you are close to completing your degree requirements, and plan to apply for June graduation, speak to the graduation department. I was told that once you officially apply they begin to 'audit' your courses. This speeds them up a bit b/c it's a different group that does this and they have to complete that audit in time for graduation (although you technically have until the end of April to get all the credits in for June grad). Otherwise, be prepared to keep waiting!
