Leeway on graduation submittal dates for TESC

Evidently there is some wiggle room on the deadlines to submit your application for graduation. TESC policy says that if you want to graduate in June you have to have your form submitted by April 1st. I didn't submit my form until April 22nd as you can see below. However, I read a post where somebody said they submitted after April 1st and still made it so I sent an email to TESC asking if it was possible. I called them up this morning and the graduation department said that I was one of the last few to make it through the audit. Yesssssss......I'm SOOOO stoked on that. Here's a copy of the Email reply I got from TESC.



The deadline to submit the Request for Graduation and all degree requirements for the June 7 graduation was April 1; and since your Request for Graduation and graduation fee were not received until April 22, your Request for Graduation will be considered for the September 2013 graduation. If you would like to be considered for the June 7 graduation, there is no guarantee that we will be able to complete the graduation audit in time for this graduation date. The graduation audits are completed in the order in which the Requests for Graduation are received and any Requests for Graduation received by the April 1 deadline must be reviewed first before we can determine if we will be able to include your Request for Graduation for the June 2013 graduation. If you do not receive notification of your graduation status by May 15, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 609-984-1180 or
registrar@tesc.edu to determine if the degree audit will be completed in time for the June 7 graduation.

I enrolled on 4/29, application for graduation was received on 5/6, and I received the same letter as Walternc3. My academic evaluation was also finalized the first week of May and I did send a few follow up emails. As of this morning I am also in for June graduation vs. waiting for September.

Great news. TESC is frequently dinged for bad customer service. It's nice to hear that, when possible, they try to be flexible.

I have likewise heard (on TESC's private forum) that sometimes they do process graduation requests that are submitted after the deadline. I have also heard of instances when a student submits the graduation application by the deadline, but before all courses have been finished or all transcripts received and evaluated. In that case whether the application is audited for that graduation date depends on completion of the courses or TESC's receipt and processing of transcripts in time for the audit. If someone is in that situation (or any other in which timeliness/speed is required) it is advised to contact TESC and let them know of the situation. I understand that they are often willing to expedite the process when asked. However, I do not have personal experience of this type of situation (and hopefully my courses should be complete by the deadline).
