Just finished degree, review of CLEP/DANTES I took
#1
I recently finished my degree requirements from TESC, I finshed about 80% by testing out. Here is a list of the exams I took, I have marked them in level of difficulty from 1 - 10, with 1 being easiest and 10 being hardest. Also I added some notes for certain exams.

English Composition (with Essay) 5
French (12 Creds) 3 (I grew up speaking French)
Humanities 6 (not a hard exam but a LOT to remember, if you are not familiar with the arts to begin with this one can be a bear)
Social Sciences 5
Intro to Sociology 2 (2nd easiest exam, and a good foundation for other exams)
Civil War and Reconstruct 7 (never studied the topic in the past and felt I studied the wrong things, needed a lot more info. on battles)
Principles of Statistics 8 (I hate math, BUT this is the easiest math exam)
Natural Sciences 6 (once again just a lot of study on a broad subject)
Introduction to Computers 4
English Literature 4
American Literature 4
American Government 6 (know specifically how the two house work!)
Introduction to Psychology 5
Introduction to Educational Psychology 3
Intro. to World Religions 1 (easiest exam I felt I could have passed with no studying)
Organizational Behavior 7
Drug and Alcohol Abuse 2
Ethics in America 4
Rise and Fall of Soviet Union 6
Analysis & Interpret Lit 3
Management Information 6

Congratulations to you! That's awesome! Big Grin

And thanks for the ratings on the exams. Regarding World Religions... did you have a good amount of familiarity with this subject already, or is it just a lot of common sense type stuff?

Thanks for the kind words. I needed a degree for a work opportunity and it is nice to have completed it. Now onto a "regular" masters program, no more testing out of credits for me.

I thought it might be useful to say what I feel in my subjective opinion is the best order to take some of these exams.

Path Sociology/Psych#1:
Intro to Sociology
Social Sciences
Introduction to Psychology
Organizational Behavior
Principles of Statistics
Introduction to Educational Psychology

Arts and Lit.#2:

Hello.

My name is Marshall and I was wondering if you could help me. I've been getting the bug to go to college and get my degree, but I want to do it in the quickest manner possible. I have decided to go through TESC like you because I'm impressed with the school. I was wondering if you could give me some advice on how I can "test out" on the majority (if not all) of the General Education Requirements. I want go for my Bachelors in Business Administration. I'm looking at doing CLEP mostly. I also heard on this post that FEMA offers free classes for college credit. I'll more than likely start out with the FEMA courses until I get some money to pay for the CLEP tests. In the meantime could you give a plan of action for taking the CLEP test? What should I study first and et cetera. Any help you can give me will be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Marshall
