That medical college is listed within California licence system so it's recommended for the test I'm required to take after I get the first degree. The chiropractor school is this one > Welcome to Life Chiropractic College West I have to do one at a time and the first medical school is a year less than the other one and allows me to build my clinic faster once I've gotten my master's and passed the test.

I would do a bit of research on the school.... My quick research is a bit worrisome. Hopefully they get WASC accredited. I presume you have multiple schools you are interested in?

You have a more expansive definition of medical school than is probably the norm in these forums. Traditional MD and DO granting medical schools are in a completely different class than traditional Chinese medicine and chiropractic. This is why providing more information is good. We need a common taxonomy of terms in order to have a good discussion.

I live in Modesto California... it's not like there are DOZENS of medical schools to pick from in the fields I want to get into it down the street from my home. I have to take what I can take and be happy with it. But goodness do I feel like everything I'm doing is just plan wrong.

The school may be a good fit for you, the warning about it being nationally accredited instead of regionally accredited was raised because a nationally accredited degree will not be recognized by regionally accredited schools (you likely don't care about all this). If you have no intent in furthering your education beyond that degree and the program is accepted for licensure in your field, then there is no need to worry about it. It sounds like once you finish both of these degrees you do not intend to continue on to other academics, if that is the case -- don't worry so much about accreditation and pick the program that is a best fit for you. I'm nowhere near qualified to be a traditional MD or alternative MD, so I bring no judgement in that regard, however I do want to make sure you have all the facts before choosing a program so that you don't waste any time or money (we see ALOT of people invest in programs that don't ultimately qualify for the goal they have).

In regards to your undergraduate degree, the key information I'd review is: http://lifewest.edu/wp-content/documents...ements.pdf . Based on the 24 credit science requirement (half need labs), a degree in one of the sciences makes sense (the 24 credits required will practically fill out your major). If it were my money and time, I would proceed towards a degree at one of the big three but plan to take my science/lab courses at a local community college. I would contact COSC specifically and see if they would be willing to do an articulation agreement with a local school so that you could use financial aid could cover those classes.

I can't get national accreditation in Chinese medicine because it's not approved/ legal in all of the USA. In California there are only a limited number of colleges they approve to take the test. After I get my masters there , I can be an acupuncturist . And then I can get my doctorate in the same path after already being in that field. And once in that field I will go into Chiropractic medicine.

I will look into taking some science course at the local college.. but with two children I don't think I'll be able to do that for at least a year or so. For now I hope to gain some credits by taking online classes and some tests. I hope to get my degree in 3 years or less.

I ordered a REA core exam study guide book and a 2015 clep study guide yesterday. With luck I can take a few tests this summer while in southern California visiting family.

Thank you for your advice -- at times I can be too sensitive and overly defensive . After a lifetime of being teased it's a common reaction I have when meeting new people.

That's a solid plan! I'd say really focus on the general education courses that are required for any degree for now. Many of the classes offered at community colleges are now available online (even some with labs), so I wouldn't let this deter you! Either way focusing on your general eds are a good way to jump in (I can tell you're ready to get going, i KNOW that feeling!). That's the reason I suggest Analyzing and Interpreting literature right off (if it fits in a persons degree plan). If you can read poetry and know basic literary devices, you'll pass it without study. That's two less classes that you have to take for a little over an hour of work!

Once you decide on a school for undergrad, let us know and we can suggest tests/study material/etc that will speed you on your way. Feel free to message me if you any further questions, I know how much this is to take in at first, but you'll be a pro in no time!

It is correct that our goal is to help you and offer you assistance. Life is a culmination of experiences and choices that we make, sometimes some people get experience in an area that others don't and subsequently people seek the advice of people whom may have that experience. I am sorry that you get so upset with people when they state things or offer opinions in which you may not agree with; however, I promise you that will not deter people from offering advice or opinions that they think may help you in your current situation. It is worrisome when colleges have issues with accreditation because of transfer issues, licensing issues, diploma mills, and reputation. Believe it or not there are people out there that have the sole purpose of ripping you off in order to attain money. You really should be the subject matter expert on the school you wish to attend, especially on the graduate level. In regards to your seeking of these two specific degrees, you need to have back up schools and apply to those just due to the potential that you may not be admitted. You also need to consider if you will actually be able to do this goal. I am not trying to diminish your dreams; however, you speak of educational limitations such as your kids not providing you time to go to college in person; will you be able to go to these schools in person? This forum is designed to promote higher education, and we try our best. Most of the time the demographic we serve are adults trying to finish a degree that they were unable to complete because life got in the way. We can help you find alternatives to some traditional higher education routes, but we need you focused and determined to move forward. You can not get emotional with every single little thing no matter your history. You will hear many things that will upset you in your pursuit and I will tell you that if you can't handle people just offering opinions or advice and just give up, then you will not succeed with anything in life. People you encounter in your life will always give you advice or criticize you to a certain extent, sometimes to help develop you and sometimes not. You will receive this from your friends, bosses, co-workers, parents, kids, literally almost everyone. If your past leaves you with issues dealing with people then you need to seek professional counseling before you go on this endeavor. You are planning on entering a very people oriented type of profession, so you must learn to socialize. Look most of us have had difficult lives and to get defensive and agitated doesn't serve you or anyone else. I can assure you that I have seen thousands of people in my lifetime that have had it so much worse than you or me, that I promise; however, most of them don't hold on to their situation as a crutch to limit their potential. So I am sorry if being direct and offering advice does not make you feel good. I am also sorry that you had to deal with this type of counseling situation over a forum. This is your life, your choices, and your experiences so you are in charge of it. If you don't agree with the advice we give then do what you want anyways because what we offer isn't a mandate. Hopefully your choices won't be accompanied by any issues or consequences. We truly just want to help on this forum; however, the only person that can truly help you improve your life conditions is you. Suppose you had asked for a glove, just a single glove. Since I am right handed, I would have handed you a right handed glove. Suppose you had responded with "I'm left handed, I need a left handed glove". With that information, people would know to offer a left handed glove. Or people who don't have left handed gloves would know not to offer anything. What a word, term, or phrase means to one person may be different from what it means to someone else. Part of discussion is going back and forth so that people can clarify exactly what they are trying to accomplish.
