I’ve come to the conclusion after lurking on the forum enough that the fastest/cheapest option for my Masters is going to be through WGU due to their competency based structure.
I’m wondering what the quickest options offered by WGU are, I’ve seen that the MBA there is often completed in one term. Are there any other considerations? I wouldn’t be opposed to completing two if there’s enough over-lapping courses.
Preferably I would like to stay away from essay writing and take as many objective assessments as possible but I do understand this is a post-grad degree and I will have to do some writing.
My undergrad will be from UMPI and it will be a BAS with Pre-Law minor. With this in mind the Masters would have to be open to any undergrad degree with as little prerequisites as possible.
Thank you to everyone in advance!

The MSML is easier than the MBA. I've seen many people complete the MSML in 1 term and then complete the MBA in a second term because there's like 5 classes remaining. Having said that if you don't have any business knowledge or experience neither one may be very easy. It all depends on your background and the amount of time you have to dedicate to your studies.

As far as difficulty goes I’m not worried about either I know I will be able fly through it on my end. I was more concerned with having to wait for assignments to be graded slowing me down. But thank you, I’ll have to look into the MSML!

I was going to recommend the MSML as well, if you would like to continue with UMPI, go for their MAOL... Basically, if you can finish in two terms at UMPI, it's just $4K for that masters. A couple of students here have done so... The WGU MSML is the same price if you finish within 1 term.

If one wants the WGU MSML and MBA then they should stick with WGU because they'll have to repeat courses. WGU doesn't accept transfers in their grad business degrees. There's been 1 person who completed the UMPI MAOL in 2 sessions. They also had a business degree from UMPI so they were waived from 3 courses. They have also said it was a great deal of work and had no life basically. From what I have seen the WGU MSML is fewer papers than the MAOL at UMPI. You have 6 months to complete it at WGU versus trying to cram it into 16 weeks at UMPI. It's only $675 more for the WGU 6 month term than 2 sessions (16 weeks) at UMPI.

WGU definitely seems like the way to go, I’ve read the posts about UMPI’s MAOL and it seems like more writing than I’ve done in my entire life lol

I've talked to a few people who have either completed it or are in it. It is a GREAT DEAL of writing. One person on here wrote over 200 pages for just 1 class! That's longer than a PhD dissertation. I'm in 3 grad classes at Amberton right now and I won't have written anywhere near 200 pages by the end of this 10 week session and I write at least 1 paper every week. The MAOL is all papers at UMPI. The MSML has a few exams which may be faster for some people than writing more papers. I mean I love UMPI. I'm a total dork about how awesome I think YourPace is. I don't love the grad program though. I find it to be far too much work when compared to other programs out there.

That’s what I’m hoping for. At the start of 2022 I had only 37 credits from my local CC that’s I’ve been slowly adding to since 2017 so I’d really like to be able to say I earned my associates from Pierpont, Bachelors from UMPI and Masters from WGU in the same calendar year.

Agreed you just have to plan ahead. I don't think I've had an assignment take longer than 3 days to grade but it's mostly been 1 to 2 days. I even had some that I submitted late at night and woke up to a "pass" in the morning and I also unexpectedly got a "pass" on thanksgiving day that I was thankful for. Some class assignments have multiple tasks so after submitting 1 task you can just start work on the next task. Also, let your mentor know ahead of time when you submit final tasks or plan to so that you can have your next class unlocked(especially if it's going to be a weekend).
