After much anxiety, I finally received the email that certifies that I'm certified to graduation for March 2017.
This was such a long time in the coming, as I started college back in 1994, one of those so-called 'smart kids' who was fresh out of high school with the intention of becoming a music teacher. Yeah, that didn't work out so well. :-D I started and stopped countless times, attending classes at B&M schools, taking classes online and of course, testing out. Now, I'm itching to earn a masters but I'm still unsure of the direction I want to go with it. I definitely know I do NOT want it to take so long!
I owe you all so many thanks, especially those of you who are homeschooling parents. You silently gave me that extra push to know I could finish while teaching my own children.
Thank you ALL so very much for the wealth of experience you bring to the non-traditional learning table.

Congrats!!!! I echo your sentiments. I got my associates degree in '96. After talking to mamasapphire and finding this forum (which has been invaluable and a huge source of information and encouragement) I hope to be in your shoes in a few months. My 12 year old daughter has taken note of what I've been doing and is talking about working on her degree throughout middle and high school. And I've for the first time started thinking about getting a master's. It doesn't seem so unobtainable now.

BSBA/Accounting TESU (2016). MSA UIUC (2018).
Need help with portfolios? I earned 18 credits at TESU through portfolio evaluations. Nine of those were for upper level accounting courses. My advice for PLA/portfolios: TESU portfolio tips The first post has the Portfolio Checklist I created. Page ten has the actual narrative I wrote to receive credit for ACC-440.
Using Straighterline's Financial Accounting as a substitute for TESU's Intermediate Accounting I? Don't do it if you are an accounting major and/or want your CPA license. They are not the same course and I think TESU has erred in accepting the SL course as Intermediate I. I made this discovery here: Intermediate Accounting II.
