So, I've been plugging away at my Emergency Management Bachelor's at TESC for about 8 months now. I'm about 9 credits away (3 exams) + my Practium. But, I decided, just for the heck of it I'd send in a letter to my Fire Department and express interest in a position in Emergency Management. I detailed my FEMA certs, explained my situation at TESC and "PRESTO"
I got offered the job. Just like that!
Thanks InstantCert. I almost wanna cry typing this letter. I don't know where I would be without you guys. But, I do know that they wouldn't be offering me a management position on the 9th largest department in the country without you.

Congrats! How motivating. For all those people who are sitting on the fence not knowing if this is a legit way to earn one's degree, I'm sure you have just caused people to jump over and start scheduling their tests.
What a wonderful and affirming post that this alternative way to a degree works! Who knows, maybe the very idea of how you were going about your degree brought you to their attention.
Too many naysayers have said human resource people would shuck our resumes in the wastebasket when they found out the means of obtaining an Excelsior, TESC or Charter Oak Degree....you have proved them wrong.
Congrats again!
