Isabel Masters in AI -- €3,245
#1
Got an email from Structuralia, another partner of Universidad Isabel.  They are offering a Masters in AI (in English) from U Isabel for 6,490 EUR with a 50% discount so = EUR 3245 or around US$3,600.

They say it's a limited time offer but maybe it's just part of their marketing.  I have no clue on how good/bad this program is, but some of you might be interested so that's why I am posting.  It's likely a titulo propio, but you can verify with them directly.

I don't see if it says it's Propio (likely) or Official.

To me looks like a "título propio" of Universidad Isabel I. In the Spanish page appears as "master", not a "master oficial" or "master universitario".
https://www.structuralia.com/formacion/m...on-modelos
Also, checking the web of the university appears no master in AI as official one. https://www.ui1.es/oferta-academica/mast...-oficiales
They have in Big Data, Cybersecurity and Mobile Tech.
All this is what I found. But I cannot be 100% sure.
That is why my guessing is that it is a own title. You can send them an e-mail and ask. Probably will be the best option.

Edit: IA (in Spanish) for AI (in English).

Check to make sure they offer transcripts. AFAIK, Isabel doesn't offer them at all. So if there are any they would likely come from the teaching school. No big deal one way or the other if you live in Spain because there they accept diplomas by themselves as long as they can be verified through a trusted channel (the teaching school for instance) usually through an ID code. But here in the United States that almost never flies anywhere as almost all schools want a transcript.

If you look at the "main" page for Isabel I, they have titulo propio labeled differently than this degree, and others have no degree listed, just ECTS. https://www.structuralia.com/en/formacion

EDIT: I emailed Structuralia in my bad Spanish, I'll let you know.

The response: They're all propios, so take that as you will. See attached. Fun note, they're trying to rebrand a titulo propio as a "Private/Specialisation Master's Degrees".

They didn't answer who issues the transcripts, instead giving me the Hague Apostille spiel, so I assume Structuralia issues the transcripts, not Isabel I.

The letter say it clear. You get a titulo propio. You will get 2 diplomas, like eneb. One from the place you did the study and the other from isabel I. The credits should have etcs recognition since they come from the university . But probably will be no transcript from Isabel I. the degree is not an oficial degree, since is not evaluate and aproved from the education ministery directly. This requires a long and costly process.
The degree is valid, since has the recognition of the university. BUT is a professional degree, to be used for work not to go further in to research. I doubt that will be recognized as RA.
Nothing wrong with the quality of the education, just that is a title with the university recognition without the federal ministery control.

I never meant to imply the education wasn't of a high quality. I just wanted to verify if all the degrees were propios or some were oficiales, as we know (generally) how they will be received in the US/Canada.

It may depend on where one takes it for evaluation. ECE has evaluated a similar master propio arrangement with Isabel as equivalent to RA, but they evaluated it as a bachelors degree. The reason, they say, is because the teaching school (ENEB) accepts 3-year bachelors degrees for admission, so ECE is essentially saying that they count the 1-year equivalent masters from ENEB as the 4th year of bachelors study in the United States. However, that reasoning is ridiculous and flawed. For one, whether work is or isn't masters level has nothing at all to do with a school's entry requirements, those are two completely separate things. Secondly, ECEs stance would invalidate the masters degrees held by most people living outside North America, as 3-year bachelors degrees are customary outside of North America and accepted for masters entry in all of those places, not to mention that they are accepted in many if not most places in the U.S. and Canada which further brings into question what ECE was doing with that evaluation.

I'm certain ECE is not taking that stance against all other schools, so I remain skeptical of the legitimacy of that particular decision and what it was really based on.

I think that ECE's position is silly. But a RA bachelor's in AI for €3245 is still a pretty good deal. Not as good as getting a Master's for €3245, but it could still be useful for some people!
