Is InstraCert enough for American History 2?

As I've quoted Ronald Reagan previously,

Instantcert is a good resource but it isn't exhaustive, I used REA, education-portal (expensive) Biography of America Video's (very helpful) and still had a hard time at the test. There was a definite need for minority cultural history knowledge in my test multiple question on race relations, minority music and poetry etc. Don't forget since you are a subscriber to check out the exam specific feedback part of this forum.
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

Thanks! I'm having a pretty easy time going through InstantCert so I will definitely take advantage of other options. The CLEP study guide I got from my library seems good but there's only one practice test. I will look into getting REA. Are the Biography of America videos you were talking about through Annenberg Media? And do you by any chance still have the REA book you used?

I supplemented with Cliffsnotes for this. It is free. Here is the website: U.S. History II

Yes, that's the case with the Official CLEP Study Guide. But it's the most accurate PT.

Hi all --

So I know it's been a while since I posted on this thread but I just wanted to thank everyone for the advice. I took the test yesterday and made a 74, which was far beyond what I needed to get credit from my University. Overall, I think the InstantCert fill-in-the-blanks quizzes were helpful, but as someone highlighted before they were not extensive. REA test prep was very good to use as a supplement, as their tests were similar in format and difficulty to the actual CLEP exam. I used CliffNotes as well, which is almost word-for-word identical to the InstantCert quizzes, and serves as a great reading guide. The Annenberg Media videos were also a great resource. I don't think I can credit my success to any one particular resource, though. If you want to be successful on this test you have to utilize many different study materials.

One thing I will say though, and again this has been highlighted before in this thread, but none of the study materials cover the social trends nearly as in-depth as the CLEP test covers them. Unless you have an ungodly amount of time to study, in my opinion, there is no way that you'll be able to cover all of the social trends during that timespan. So my advice to someone studying for the History II test would be to make sure you know all of the political events/trends 100%, that way you can count on getting a few of the oddball social questions wrong and still get a good score.

Cheers guys!
