Introduction to Sociology-CLEP
#1
Hello I am new to this forum and I am new to CLEP, I did some research on the forums already and just wanted to ask a couple questions about the CLEP for intro to sociology.

1. If you used intracert, what percentage of the test are questions based off of the definitions on intracert.

2. How much different is the test from the intracert questions?

2. How many questions did you have that asked about who (so and so) was or which person created (insert any theory or principle) theory. I ask this just in case I need to memorize each individual for example Freud, Erikson, Durkheim.

3. Do you get your results immediately after you take the test?

I am currently studying using intracert and will take the free petersons tests aswell as the clep study guide tests. I went through 2/3 of the intracert flashcards and know them by heart and studied vigorously and am hoping I pass my test :].

Thank you

Murse,

As you are new to this forum I would like to make you aware of something that it took me quite awhile to find and once I did then I knew how to move through here. As a member, you now have access to the Specific Exam Forum -- YEAH! But when I was new this was hard for me to find.

In this forum area, members share their experiences and answer all of the questions you have posted here and then some. They will tell you subjects you may want to do more research on utilizing Google, etc. They will say if IC cards are enough or if you should supplement and then they may share what worked for them. I'm giving you this type of information because these basics are the same whether you are preparing for Sociology or any other subject.

Anyway, it took me awhile to figure out how to get to the ellusive Specific Exam Forum but once found, boy did I feel dumb.

Once you have signed in to IC where you can access either the cards or the discussions, click on discussions. Then look, in the upper right hand area there is a second location for you to sign in. Do so, and once that is done the pop-up list now shows the Exam Specific Forum. Click on that and then do a "Search of this Forum" and put in the name, such as "sociology" and you will get all kinds of information from those who have gone before!!!

This is also an area where members can send personal messages (PM) to one another if you wish.

Personally, I have developed a system of creating a Word document that may be titled something like "Intro to Sociology forum notes" and I then copy any forum postings that I feel may be helpful, such as links, suggested texts, and lists of subjects that someone with a better memory than I may have posted of areas I should concentrate on and/or Google for further information.

I hope these suggestions may be of help to you both now and as you continue into your testing for credit experiences Smile

If you have memorized that much get a good feeling for the rest and you will be good to go. I used IC for this one and it was not a problem. Good luck and yes know your names and theories solid!! I saw a lot of them.

Yes, your results will be revealed at the end of the test (after you go through a survey...). It's immediate gratification! Big Grin

Congrats! I also passed today with a 72! Easy peasy, less than 5 hours of study. This is a great one to break in on I think, I'm sure that some of the others won't be so easy unfortunately. Smile

Now if only they'd send me my English Comp score. ; ;
