Introduction To Computing DSST
#1
I'm new here.

The first test I am planning on taking is the Introduction To Computing DSST exam. Has anyone taken this test recently? If so, did you only use IC for study material or something more? I have heard differing opinions on the difficulty of this test.

Thank You

I just took this one last month. I used IC only. I've used a computer daily for personal stuff. I found the test to be very easy. I think I spent 2-4 hours preparing for it. Good luck!

Do you have a computer background? I don't. I know just enough to navigate the internet and type up a few documents.

Thanks

Hi,
I agree with Autumn. I just took this test last Friday and passed - no problem. I only used IC. In fact I checked out a ton of books from the library and never touched a one of them (except to return them this morning). But seriously, IC is spot on for this exam. This is the only time I haven't used another source to study and that's only because I ran out of time. I was studying for Astronomy at the same time and really gave that all of my attention. I only decided to take Intro to Computing at the last minute (a couple of days before).

Oh, I should mention that I am about the LEAST computer literate person you may ever care to meet. Ask my ex-husband. He'll regale you with countless stories of how I can't burn dvds, don't know what an expansion port is, and always seem to have the craziest computer-related issues of anyone ever, etc.

So if I can do it - anyone can. And I do mean anyone. The single best source of info for me was the feedback forum. I took all of the suggestions there and put them in a word file. Not a pretty word file because that would have required a level of word processing expertise that I am not capable of (see paragraph 2 above). But it got the job done. If you want, send me a PM and I'll forward it to you.

Good luck and best wishes,
Kelly

Dude, don't you dare choke on your "soft" drink (yeah, right). We just got you back - I don't want you choking on us and leaving again. Besides, then it would be my fault and Jennifer would come after my sorry butt! hilarious
