I am not good with math. I have been going back through an old beginning algebra textbook to work myself up to being able to take the math credits I need. I'm an English major, so I only need one college-level math course. I know about ALEKS and Saylor options, but I'm finding the "self-paced" structure to be hard for me to stay motivated with. I'm wondering if I should stick with the self-paced course or if I should consider an actual online class that would provide structure, but not be so far over my head that I drown. Does anyone have any advice? Would TESC's MAT-115 be a good option?
Thanks!

UEXCEL Contemporary Mathematics wasn't bad. I thought it was easier than CLEP College Math. TESC accepted the UEXCEL Contemporary Math as MAT-199 and they transcribed the letter grades for my most recent UEXCEL exams instead of the "CR" credit.

I took MAT-105 as an
OL course and it was nothing more than HS math. If you want to see the level of math covered, send me a PM and I will provide my notes. To lower the stress level both the midterm and final are open book. It was an easy A, but in all fairness I enjoy math.

Wait, that's an interesting change. I thought TESC transcribed all UExcels as CR? Is this one of their recent changes? If it is, I'm wondering if it will contribute to the final transcripted GPA...
