I took the Intro to Law Enforcement DSST on June 30th. Thankfully, I not only studied the flashcards, but read Snazzlefrag's notes. Without giving any test information away, if you are going to take this test, read his notes! Of course, take the Peterson's practice tests as well. Passing score is 45 and I got 69.

This would be a bit of grave digging, but this was the latest thread found as of today.
I needed 3 Social Science credits left for my graduation, so I decided to take this exam. After deciding on this test, I found out this is not exacty a popular test. Limited information and no prometric sample exam, etc.
I Just returned from the testing center. Passed with 69 our of 45 passing score. I do have law enforcement background, however, I think that probably helped with a few questions tops.
50% of the test is "common" sense
20% you could probably use process of elimination
30% study... I don't think you can pass this test cold.
Preparation
-Duration : 5 days
-InstantCert - Invaluable, many topics on the test are covered
-Snazzlefrag's Study Notes - Great notes, but I think it has lots of extra info you would need only on Criminal Justice test
-Cliff Notes Criminal Justice - I bought it, but didn't even have a chance to finish the first 2 chapters..
Few topics that I can remember
- Know your amendments for sure. Those are your free questions right there. If you include case laws relating to amendments, you get a few more. Know this!
- Demographics of female officers
- Had a LEAA question in there
- Few questions on case laws
- Crime rates and calculation
- Crime reporting - UCR, NCVS, advantages and disadvantages - although I didn't encounter NIBRS, make sure to know this...
- Community policing
- Public perception
I hope this information is useful for you. Good luck on your test.
I am finally done!
