Intro to Bussiness DSST DIfficulty.
#1
I've recently flunked CLEP Financial Accounting,
I was close but it got me, and it's costly with airline ticket + taxi + testing fees(plus nagging parents :willynilly: ).
So I've been studying a lot for my upcoming tests, Western Civ 2(I'm hoping to pass, as I'm scoring 85% on Peterson's and REA's practice tests, slightly less on IC) and Intro to Business.
With Western Civ I have study material that works(according to Amazon and a friend who used the book), however not with the other test.

Since I failed that one last CLEP (I studied a long time for it, time for Straighter line I guess) I've felt kicked down..
I've taken(scored 55 plus on them, some were almost 70) Macro Economics, Micro Economics, Marketing, Management, and I think one other CLEP business test.
I've scored around 77% with all three Peterson's tests for Intro To Business.
I did initially score 60% but I did some googling on the stuff I got wrong,
and retook the tests.

So what do you think I'm ready?
Is there any online material I can use that's rather concentrated? I have Understanding Business, it's one of the books recommended by the College Board.
It's 400 pages, I know mostly what that book has to offer(up to page 300, I got sick of it), and seems rather elementary.

I've spent a decent amount of time reading about the test(commonsense, a mile wide, nothing deep, etc) but there was a revision, and that worries me slightly...

I think it sounds like you're ready to go. I didn't study much for this test and did ok. Part of that was because I had already taken all of my other business tests. This truly was the last one, so even though I took it 'cold' - it really was stuff I had already studied.

Did you read through the specific forum feedback thread? I think that will give you all the answers you need.

Also, I took SL accounting I and II so if you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I HATE accounting and really struggled through those, but SL is doable.. not fun lol but possible.

Thanks for your feedback Smile
I did read specific feedback, basically from what I can grasp it's simple if you've done well with business and involve common sense. But with the revision it makes me nervous...
I wasn't far from financial accounting.
I scored 45, but I dislike how they make it so complex with the rather unorthodox naming of stuff.
I'll definitely take you up on the offer regarding the SL accounting stuff, maybe I"ll get lucky and enjoy the format more then CLEP.

I also think you should be ready. Scoring consistently over 70% in the practice tests should be good enough. Intro to Business is quite straightforward, if you are familiar with business you should do fine.

Since you were close to passing the Financial Accounting CLEP, I would suggest studying more and trying the DSST Financial Accounting. I heard that it is supposed to be easier than the CLEP (I didn't take it, so I don't know). On the other hand, if you need to take Managerial Accounting (or Accounting II) as well, I would suggest doing them both though Straighterline. Or if you want to save on the trip and testing fees.

Hope this helps

If you studied accounting management and marketing you should be fine. I took this as my last test and it was so easy for me I couldn't click the next button fast enough.

Thank you for your input.
My mother was extremely nice and paid the $250 for the airline tickets along with the warning of you better pass.
So I feel better, I'll continue to cram as I have until Monday, and finally I'll look into get some form of financial test that Excelsior takes for a bachelors of science in market
