Instant Cert query
#11
Thank you everyone for your valuable advice and opinions. I will go ahead and get a subscription of Instantcert asap.

The only thing I am doubtful on is the cancelling the subscription. Does Instantcert keep on re-subscribing you every month and deducting the amount or you have to specifically cancel the subscription altogether?

I guess you'll have to cancel the subscription. This is a link that discusses your concern and provides answer. http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...rship.html

Instantcert charges you per month. So you sign up on the 24th of April and you have access until the 24th of May at which time they submit a charge to your credit card or bank account. I you sign up on April 24th and cancel on May 1st you have access until May 24th regardless, since you paid for a months description. I can't remember how to get to the cancellation page offhand as its been a few months since I cancelled my subscription but once you get there you input the credit card details of the card and it finds your account and then you can cancel from there. I've cancelled at least three times over the past two years and I've never had a problem. You don't get a cancellation email but the charge has never occurred on my account after I cancelled. I believe it is value for money. This year I spent 4,000 on classes at Excelsior and probably about $70 on Instantcert, I gained 12 credits at EC and three by using Instantcert well worth the investment. I'll be signing up in the next week or two to prepare for U.S History II once I finish the taxes I'm working on for clients.
:hurray: Another thing I would add is to get your CLEP and DSST courses done before you sign up for classes as I've gotton bogged down in classes for the past six months and not had time or energy to test out. So sign up and get a bunch of tests done and then either cancel your subscription and renew it once you have a goal of taking more tests. Steve, has worked hard to put this resource together and it has worked for many people. At least six people I know on this forum this year have went from no credit to degree in around 12 months which is inspirational. Take action (I'm preaching to myself now )
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

Finally got subscribed to Instantcert today after the wait :willynilly:

I only see the fill-in-the-blanks option. Aren't there any notes or MCQ's we could do as well?

The flashcards are the notes. If not comfortable with the style some cut and paste into a word doc and study that way. Or you can use that doc to create text to audio files (my fav method). If you want MCQ try searching the subject on quizlet. Choose a subject mid term and/or final exam (certain subjects even have clep or dsst cards), and on the above bar click on test icon. Then look to the right (question types) and check only the M/C box, then reconfigure.

Don't forget to check the special feedback section.

Yeah, I guess copying them onto notepad or Microsoft Word would be the best option. I have used Quizlet and Cram in the past, really helpful websites with detailed stuff, they unfortunately finish after 325/899

What's the special feedback section about?

Wow, it's only the best part of this forum. Go check out the section, it's private and only available to IC subscribers. Makes the price for subscription even more worthwhile.

Refer back to my post on page one. You can also use the dsst/clep practice exams at the petersons site (the link was provided). As well as search out the textbook companion website for quizzes etc.

Good luck on your exams.

It surely is, after going through it in detail. It's definitely worth the subscription! Getting actual feedback from very recent real time examinations is indeed something rare.

Kajkulahi, That is one of the best reasons to maintain a subscription to Instantcert. The real time responses of people who can point you in the right direction in your studies is well worth the investment.

The members only feedback forum was the reason I passed all my tests. I honestly didn't use the flashcards more than once. Based off the info people gave on the specific tests, I read a few wiki articles and took the Petersons tests a bunch of times and it worked! $20 bucks on one month of IC, about $400 in tests and I was able to graduate a year early from my B&M school, saving about $5700 in tuition costs. In some of the topics, there are even already made spreadhseets left by some very helpful members. All the info is spot on.

Good Luck!
