Indiana Wesleyan EDD
#1
Hi all,

Longtime lurker, first time poster.

I'm looking for a Doctorate program that will allow me to transfer courses from my completed Ed.S. Educational Leadership, allowing for a shorter EdD/PhD program. I see that Indiana Wesleyan has an Ed.D. completion program 10 courses - 30 credits - 20 months program. https://www.indwes.edu/program/doctor-of-education

Does anyone have any feedback about the program? (I did search, and didn't see anything)

Any other alternative suggestions? Looking for a capstone/dissertation-in-practice in lieu of the traditional dissertation experience.

Thanks in advance,
D

Go for South College CBE program. If you can transfer some credit for EdS you may end up finishing dissertation n one term under $6000.

I am also considering South. However, they do not accept transfer credits in their doctorate programs.

Technically, two terms, that's 12K, but still a great deal if you can finish all the classes in one term and the dissertation in the second term.

I have no knowledge of Indiana Wesleyan, though I often see their online ads for various programs.
Regarding a possible alternative to IW, that may or may not be as affordable or perhaps cheaper...
Have you looked into the (poorly named) American College of Education http://www.ace.edu ?

They are an online, private university, that is both Indiana -based and is regionally accredited. They mostly specialize in graduate degrees for teachers and school administration staffers.

They might have a EdS to EdD pathway you qualify for.

What I admittedly do NOT know about is their policy regarding dissertations vs capstone's.
