I mean like, they take FEMA courses which you can do in a couple of hours, and some of these courses listed below are weeks long, sit in class with schematics thrown at you. Even some BOOLEAN Algebra. How about that?

This looks very much like A&P certification material. It is always possible to put together a prior learning assessment portfolio.
And while TESC may or may not, there are other colleges that should. It might not be as flexible as TESC but there are options like Embry Riddle or Old Dominion where upto 20% of your credits have to be earned from them, but better than nothing. Going to assume 29palms means your navy/marine? If so Old Dominion may be the better option, with them being based in Norfolk, they tend to align better to Navy aviation pretty well.

Not A&P certification material. It's called corporate training. A&P certification was aquired way before this training.

I'm curious to know if they would take the FAA Diamond Award and place it somewhere other than Aircraft maintenance. I will have to send them all of my documentation and see what they would do with it.
#6
I had a few of those one time they handed them out here at work, but then never saw them again. Who cares? That and a cup of coffee........I've got so many certificates of training I put them in a folder, don't even hang them on the wall. My Marine Corps discharge is in a book shelf. I don't have a trophy room. Definately don't need no more diamond awards. If you never got any, go for it. Why not.

Are these on your SMART transcript? Some of them could fill General Education or Free Elective requirements. Heck, I had a computer course from training school in the early 1990s that counted as 4 UL credits in my degree! That surprised the heck out of me, especially since computers have...oh, let's say advanced quite a bit since then. Smile

The only thing you can list in your SMART transcript from my understanding while I was dealing with them was military training and college WHILE YOU WERE IN THE MILITARY. So if you gained other education after military service, you could not list those. Being I got my final degree, or AA while in the military, they were able to construct this into SMART system. These company training courses listed are not ACE approved, nor that of college worthy. It's strictly company training on specific aircraft and systems. Required training by the company to meet FAA standards. (Compiled after some 16 years.) Alot of it is recurrent, and have to revisit video or CBT training on a yearly basis. Things to do to keep you current on your airworthiness certificates, to be able to sign off airplanes. There is nothing there good for college that I don't all ready have. At least I don't believe they do.
I was in military service before the SMART system got going I believe after 1995 or so, so I had to reconstruct it by submitting those college courses from around 3 different colleges. The advantage I see here is I don't have to go back to each college to submit those trancripts now that SMART has it all in one package. I'm glad I did this a few years back. It would be nice to submit everything on SMART but like I said, I was told by them that it is only designed WHILE YOU WERE IN MILITARY SERVICE.
