Has anyone used the Complete Idiot's Guide to Accounting. I've decided to knock this one out for my next CLEP, as it is the hardest one left on my list and was wondering if I should get this book?
I'm looking for something I can read while I'm at work and can't necessarily get access to the internet.
Also what about the Accounting Workbook for Dummies?

Nope, haven't used either of those books.
I am actually going to take the Accounting exam pretty soon, probably Tuesday the 16th.
For studying, I started out by going through the IC cards a few times until I could quickly answer most of the questions correctly.
After that, my main study reference was a college accounting book along w/ the Official CLEP Testing Guide for Accounting
CLEPÂ Principles of Accounting Exam Guide to direct my reading. It outlines everything that should be on the test.
For extra help I have also used the Passbook series Introduction to Accounting book:
Career Examination PasskbookS -
It is full of mini-tests that will help gauge where you are.
And finally, I plan to read Finance & Accounting for Non-Financial managers by William G. Droms tonight & tomorrow.

I used the official study guide, instantcert and
Principles of Accounting. It's been a while since I took the test but one of the big things is getting the difference between a credit and a debit account straight. I studied until the light finally went on, then I took the test. Instantcert and the official study guide should be enough to get you a pass. The multiple choice chapter review questions at the website should put you well over the top.
Good Luck!
