Calculator question

This is not about which calculator to use but...

in preparing for the statistics DSST, I purchased the TI-30XIIS. I have been using it while going through the flash cards. When I get to the section on correlation and do the two-variable stats, the answers for a and b are swapped. So the correct answser for slope is labeled a and not b.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes--and if you're using the InstantCert flashcards you'll see mention of it in there as well. One of the most frustrating things about studying for the DSST Statistics test is that not everyone uses the same variables. Most of the important, common ones are the same, but not line regression. I remembered it as y=mx+b--but some use an "a" instead of the "m" and some use "a" for the y-intercept and others use "b". Just remember that whichever variable stands alone in that equation is the y-intercept and remember which one your calculator considers the y-intercept. Good luck!
