IUBH - Another low cost European Grad option

Hmmmmm. And they have a 3-page document just to answer this question. Hmmmmmm.

I'm not even going to pretend to know all the in's and out's of the German education system. But one thing I know from experience is that the more the question of "are you accredited" has to be explained and it's not something one can easily find from a single official source, the more it usually turns out to be BS and I don't care what country you're from.

I know a little about what Anabin does and maybe I'm missing something with them, but is there a central authority (or a number of official authorities) in Germany where it can be verified easily that they're accredited (whatever that term means in Germany commensurate to how we understand it in the United States) or not?

Great. My skepticism was reasonable given that the FIBAA links in their PDF don't lead to where they're pointed to, they misleadingly use AACSB on their site so what IUBH lists is open to be questioned given that, and "accreditation" does not mean the same thing in the same way in all places around the world (I think we've all learned that because of the ENEB-Isabel situation) including some that use the term for course quality control, which is why I mentioned the American context. It appears to check out, but the scrutiny was/is fair given those points.

For my point, being recognized, being member and so on and being accredited are 2 different planets. First two is not accreditation. Its just marketing

I agree that mixing memberships and accreditation on one page is misleading, however, the accreditations they do have appear legitimate.

They are now offering dual-degrees with London South Bank University (public UK university) for some programs, like Data Science, if you have 2+ years of relevant work experience. Would be interesting if you can somehow avail yourself of the price discrimination with a VPN, because they seem to work off of a trial/credit card type subscription system.

You'd be taking a risk as you need to change the country at the end of the degree to your country of residence.  They have a 1 month trial option here: https://www.iu.org/start-studying/. The online degree option appears to be competency-based and self-paced.

Going off of the WES pre-qualification tool, both the LSBU and IU degrees are equivalent to Master's degrees. This makes it among the cheapest Master's options if the online option results in equivalent awards as the on-campus option.

Since I last looked at this institution, they've updated their accreditation page to be much clearer on accreditations vs memberships.

I looked into their accreditation situation. Their accreditation and rankings page at https://www.iubh-online.org/why-iubh/acc...filiation/ shows the AACSB logo. Seems great, right? Well, cross checking the AACSB list of accredited programs in Germany at https://www.aacsb.edu/accreditation/accr...ry=Germany shows that IUBH is not listed. The disclaimer on that page stating "AACSB International membership does not denote AACSB accreditation and should not be interpreted as achievement of accreditation" gives a hint. Looking more closely at the IUBH page, this is exactly what is going on. They have a membership, but not actual accreditation. How many people are going to miss this distinction? In my opinion, this a bit of a scummy tactic. If something isn't an accreditation, it shouldn't be on your accreditation page!

At the bottom of each program page, it seems they're willing to consider prior coursework for free to skip modules. I'm considering sending in my ENEB transcript and degree and seeing how they treat it, but I'm personally too busy to seriously consider a Master's at IU right now. You can probably get some portion of the 1 year MBA waived with the ENEB MBA and some portion of data science waived with the ENEB Big Data/Business Intelligence program.
