Hi all, I am in the beginning stages of planning my testing/degree plan for a TESC BSBA-CIS. I have 15yrs of substantial IT experience and a whole bundle of current certs as I am a consultant.
I opened a ticket with advisement at TESC about how to receive credit for my certs and they advised PLA. That seems like a lot of effort for my CIS credits which are going to likely come fairly easily through testing or actual ol classes.
My question is related to EC offering credit for MS/Cisco certs, and if anyone has experience or knows if it would be possible to apply and recieve that credit from EC and then transfer those class credit hours to TESC.
I would appreciate any thoughts or ideas to how to simplify/shorten my path.
Thanks,
whh

It's easier to get credit for IT certs at EC. TESC did give credit for some Microsoft certs without having to do PLAs, but I don't see them listed on their website anymore. Many of the Microsoft certs are ACE-approved and TESC is usually pretty open about accepting those.

EC will make it very clear on the transcript where the credits are from, so you are better off dealing directly with the acceptance policy at TESC. Also, search this forum for threads on this subject; you may be able to find students who have already tried getting credit for your certs at TESC.

Try going through the ACE transcripts website for credit. I know they accepted my MCSA in Windows 2003 and awarded me 3 Credit Hours in LL CIS credits. We shall see that TESC give me for them.
