I need some Tips, Help and Roadmap Lookover PLEASE! BA in PSYCH TESC
#1
I'm a newbie :imwithstupid: no credits toward a degree and 5 years serving in the USAF :patriot: . Time flies when you're not paying attention. My civilian life is sneaking up behind me and I would like to enter back in with a degree. I'm planning to attend but have not applied or enrolled in TESC. I plan to test out of everything asap. I was having a lot of trouble putting together a degree roadmap for a BA in Psych but I think I finally did it! Could you all please look it over and let me know if I did it correctly or if and what I need to correct? I would greatly appreciate the help. Also any tips on the exams I plan to take e.g. Difficulty level, which to take together because of overlapping info, etc. Also any other information that can help me along is great as well! Sorry for the long winded post! Confusedeeya:

FEMA for the Free Electives is always worth considering ... they're FREE!

Your roadmap looks good to me.... however, I had a lot of B&M classes so I did not test out of everything-- but from a brief scan of what you have it looks pretty good to me. Have you considered FEMA courses to fill a bunch of your Free Elective requirements-- the FEMA courses are free (yes free) and you do them online at home. Do a search on here about FEMA's -- most people going to TESC use them as they are free, free, free Big Grin As far as your Psych courses-- I would take the Intro ones first like Intro to Psych and Intro Sociology-- do these close together as they overlap. As you go thru the Psych courses you will see they build on each other and overlap and so study time gets less and less. I did these 6 psych tests in the following order: HGDev, Educational Psych, Research Methods, Fund of Counseling, Abnormal Psych, and Aging. I was happy with that order. I had B&M classes to fill the rest of the psych classes so those tests were the only psych ones I took. Some folks on here have taken all the psych tests and might have a different order. But definitely start out with the Intro ones to build a foundation and to get your feet wet. You can do it!! Smile

You two are amazing! I will be looking into FEMA right away thanks for the heads up and Creative thanks again for answering my silly questions! How many FEMAs can I take, I have a list of FEMAs TESC will accept but is there a cap on how many I can transfer or can I take enough to fill the free electives?:hurray:

Your degree plan brings up a question of my own:

Stats is required for the core requirements of BA is Psych, but also fits into the Natural Sciences/Math box.

Will TESC allow you to check both boxes with one course?

You know honestly I'm unsure myself, some people say yes other's no so to be safe I decided to take both worst case senario I have extra credits. The AF pays for my exams so to me it's worth it to take both even if I don't need them but for someone paying out of pocket it may make a difference. I guess the only thing to do is ask TESC?

Hi,

I'm still kind of new at this, but I saw one thing that I didn't look right. Under your Natural Sciences it says 12 credits. You have 12 credits alotted for Natural Sciences/Mathematics, but it says that you have to have 6 that are "Other Natural Science/Mathematics" and the Astronomy is only 3. I might be wrong and if I am someone feel free to correct me.

Good luck on your degree!

Mommydegree- If you haven't already done so... I would highly recommend that you become a member of IC. With membership you have access to the Flashcards for the tests and also 'Specific Exam Feedback' . This is a section of the forum where members post what they experienced on each test, what to study, how difficult it was etc. This part of the forum is without a doubt what helps most people on here!!! Before I took many of my tests I would read and re-read the Feedback Section so I could gauge whether I wanted to take that test or if another one sounded better for me , if I was ready to take it, how to study for it etc. It is VERY helpful information to plan your roadmap. There are free parts of the forum where you can find some info about the tests but the 'Feedback' is part of the subscription and has ALL the INFO of the tests in one place-- and has the most COMPLETE, thorough, feedback anywhere on the internet that I have found. Give it a try-- I think they have a money back guarantee so you have nothing to lose.

IC Flashcards + IC Feedback Section = Golden

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the replies, tips and help! I'm still trying to navigate through all this info which is a real pain but I'm sure once I get going it will all be worth it. Horsemaniac you have to have a total of 12 credits in Natural Science and Mathematics they require only 3 credits for Math but because I will be taking an exam worth 6 the other three will be applied towards the Other Natural Science/Mathematics category. So because of this I can take a 3 credit course to satisfy the credits left over that needed to be completed! Hopefully that makes a bit more sense to you! Nap you're welcome! I'm sure that I have some credits but I'm HIGHLY doubting that any of them will translate into this degree, I've had my transcript sent to TESC and I'm getting a copy myself but I don't want to rest solely on that! Besides I love to learn so if I wind up with too many credits so be it. :p Creative I am planning to join IC I just wanted to make sure that I could completely map out my degree before I committed to anything! CFrame did you ever get a for sure answer to your question from earlier about Stats being used for both sections? Talk to you all soon! Confusedeeya: Confusedeeya:
