I currently have 4 out of the 6 credits needed to fulfill the Written English Requirement (WER) at Excelsior. I've completed English Composition 1 and 2 at a local community college and have 4 credits total. I still need 2 more but I don't want to sit in a classroom to complete them.
Does anyone know of any exam that I may test out of online to grab at least two more credits? I would prefer upper level to avoid duplication since I currently only need 27 ul credits for my BSLA degree. However, if need be, I would take an LL course if no other options.
Thanks in advance for any help!

You would have to check with Excelsior, but the CLEP English Composition may work. It would duplicate the credits you have but give you the 2 more. It seems like the fastest and cheapest.
Taking Straighterline English Composition I and II would probably be less challenging than the CLEP, but take more time and money.

The last time I had checked is that Excelsior will not accept the CLEP English Composition. However, because in your case you already have a background they may accept it as a supplement to your earned credits.
You need to contact them and negotiate.
Charter Oaks and Thomas Edison still accept the CLEP if you're really opposed to taking the courses with Straighterline. I myself will be doing Straighterline next month for COMP I + II to finish out my Excelsior requirements.

The only test that Excelsior will accept is their own. They did tell me that they will accept Study.com's English comp two for credit.

Thanks everyone! I will take the advice and try to get Excelsior to accept a CLEP exam since I already have two courses completed.
