I'm so HAPPY!!!
#1
I just have to pour my heart out about how happy I am!!!

On a personal level, this school year was very difficult for me. My mother died of esophageal and lung cancer back in September, and my father has been sick. My mom's death was very upsetting and difficult...I wondered if I would be able to manage everything during her illness. But I promised myself I would not give up. Through all the saddness and family upheval, I kept up with my classes and tests.

Now....as of today, my journey as an undergraduate is OVER!!! I received the results in the mail for my FINAL test (Charter Oak's Introduction to Early Childhood Education) and I PASSED! My hands were shaking as I opened the envelope.

I never thought I would actually have the opportunity to graduate from college, largely due to finances. However, once I left my ex husband (and no longer had to clean up his major financial messes), I was able to actually get student loans and finish my degree. He once laughed at me that I was, "Just a customer service rep with no degree....hhhaaahhaaa!" (This was the man that flunked out of college after one semester).

Guess what, ex? I did it! And it feels wonderful how much my life has turned around. Thank you current husband, and son, for all your support.

Again, congratulations! What are your plans to celebrate?

Thanks so much! Down with the nay-sayers...lol.

The actual graduation ceremony is on June 1. Afterward, the hubby's taking me out for sushi, and I'll probably enjoy some sake as well! I told him dinner at our favorite sushi place would be the best gift of all.

Your story is a true inspiration to all of those that have people constantly telling them that they can't succeed. Many people don't want others to succeed because it only makes themselves look bad...sort of like the crab syndrom....you put a bunch of crabs in a barrel and watch them...the ones at the bottom always pull the ones at the top down right before they escape. People are much the same way.

Congrats on your fortitude and your perseverance; there's nothing in life you can't overcome now!
