Daniel, thanks it was like having a training partner without breaking a sweat. You beat me by a week. As far as grad school I'd love to jump in now but since I'll be moving back to CA this or next month I really got to think this through and settle down. But I'm sure once you post where you've decided it'll give me that itch to start sooner than later.

Norema, thanks I guess I do feel a little more than average now, I noticed I have a little more bounce in my step. Keep us posted when you graduate from AmbertonWink .

Good idea, Taylor. I was stressing myself out over this, and my wife reminded me that it's time to go out of "extreme school" mode and just relax for a bit. I think she's right. Grad school isn't going anywhere, and there will always be great opportunities. Bottom line is, there's no longer that black line to get over, the one for 80% of posted jobs that says BA or BS required, preventing us from consideration. It isn't fair; I really wouldn't consider myself much more educated or qualified now than before I got my degree- I'm the same person with the same skills and attitude- but that's the way the world works. Congrats again, you've definitely earned it. It's really nice to see so many people finishing at near the same time. Hopefully more will continue to follow... a lot of students here are very motivated and very close. I almost consider it an obligation to tell people about this opportunity.

By the way, what part of California are moving to? We live in San Jose.

taylor Wrote:Unlike Clep 101, I was the only one in my family that didn't graduate, so this is a big deal to me as well. I sincerely thank all the members in the forum because without all your information that you've posted I probably would be taking at least 6 months to a year longer to graduate. The last four months here I've taken, taken, taken, and now I hope I can give back more as well. One other thing I want to say is if this "average joe" can do it, anybody canhilarious .

Taylor,
Congrats on your degree as well. It feels good doesn't it?
Again, great job and don't stop there.

clep 101, thanks you stole my thunder this morningConfusedmilelol: . Class of 2010 doesn't sound too bad, does it? Hope you come home soon to be with your family :patriot: .

daniel, you got a smart wife. It's unfair like you said that the job market is biased towards college degrees. Your percentages may even be higher because I found out a long time ago "degree required" and "degree preferred" are essentially one of the same:ack: . I know I'm not much smarter with a degree either, although I can write papers with APA format and know how to reference sources extremely well now.

My personal reasons for grad school is 1)personal enrichment and 2)utility ,which is why I'm taking some time to think about it before I commit as well. I know the order should be reversed but I wouldn't be honest with myself if I told you otherwise.

I'll be in Los Angeles County or Orange County, haven't decided yet but definitely in a beach city for sure. I found jogging at night by the beach extremely therapeutic for me which is why I don't mind spending a little more for rent in those areas. California is so big that Northern CA where you're at seems like a different state. I've been to San Jose, SF, San Ramon, and Walnut Creek, all nice areas.

Good Luck in your further endevors. The Class of 2010 does sound great and I hope to join you and alot of other great people in it. The job market may not make sense with it's requirement for a BA or BS, but as my dear late boss used to say it shows you have the stamina to finish what you startWink
